THANKS Ariana!
I was sent a lovely gift from Amy, aka Ariana, of tiny cookie cutters shaped like fall leaves. Well, here's what I did with them! And a rare Mia-recipie!
A weeabo fall meal made impulsively!
You may think the presentation is impressive, but let me tell you that this is a snack that Phillip would eat even though it includes two things he dislikes!
First, I took a block of Mori-nu "silken" toku and scored it in half so it was short enough. I slowly cut out and moved the white leaves onto a plate. Now, I wasn't satisfied with that, so I wondered what could possibly make the leaves the right color... AND taste good.
Well, I have a device for evenly distributing powdered sugar. In it I put powdered ginger and powdered beet (yes, it's hard to find) and sifted it onto the tofu, just gracing the top.

Then I went back and sifted a curry powder blend I make using a lot of turmeric, which is a lovely yellow orange. The end result is very tasty and tastes a bit like curry, but a bit more fresh tasting... don't know how to describe it. There are tiny leaves that accent it made out of grapefruit. They're decoration, i guess they make it smell very nice. On the leaves I sprinkled not cranberries but Goji berries. They taste just like hawthorn berries to me, and they're really good in weird things you wouldn't expect them to be good in because they have a weird flavor. I throw them in soups a lot and they pair better with things that are savory rather than sweet. Here they're not only a cute accent but taste good when you're cleaning up the tofu.

In that little bowl off to the side, though it's hard to see, I have some simple udon noodles in a delicious dashi from a bottle I got at a japanese supermarket, as well as some vegtables that are hidden and a bit of butter. On top is another grapefruit "leaf" and a little cracker I made out of a whole wheat sandwich rollup thing, one of those flat breads like that, sprinkled half and half spirulina and beat powder then baked for a small amount of time. Because spirulina is a little sticky, even though it was powder it stayed on the bread.
Offscreen are some fantastic shrimp tempura heating up. :9 What a cute meal! Serve with a cup of kuchicha and it is perfect! Mmmmm I think I'm going to have seconds. It's nice to do things like this for yourself every now and then. Even though I made it for myself it makes me feel special.
I also use the special dinnerware. That plate is an expensive japanese plate made by a master potter. The blue bowl is also special, but made by a novice in a ceramics class-- me! :D It's a pretty color though, isn't it?

Thanks Amy, for helping me help myself to feel special! In the not retarded way, for once!

Weeaboo meals ftw. I love the red powder. Very beautiful :3
